TEAM LEADER – SURFACING FOREMAN

We are looking for an experienced Foreman to join our Hawkes Bay team.Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for planning and supervising the safe, successful, day-to-day activities of the Asphalt Crew – Operators, Labourers, Sub-Contractors and Labour Hire.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, organising and supervising paving works and carrying out paving activities on time and to budget

• Monitoring of onsite performance of sub-contractors and suppliers

• Carrying out all work in line with company standard operating procedures

• Carrying out/participating in daily pre start meetings/inductions

• Documentation i.e. timesheets, foreman sheets, pre start inspections

• Reporting of near misses/incidents/hazardsSkills and Experience required:Extensive experience working within asphalt road crews in both hand laying and paver operations

• Competence in the use of machines and appropriate licenses (WTR, Class 1-5)

• Reasonable level of physical fitness due to the physical nature of the position

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position

• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in road construction and maintenance
